The Contemplative at Home Lent Retreat offers the experience of Group Spiritual Direction for those exploring "An Ignatian Prayer Adventure" published by Loyola Press at IgnatianSpirituality.com.
This Retreat in Daily Life involves committing to pray for 30-40 minutes per day for eight weeks in Lent and Easter, during which time you will meet weekly with Lissy and a small group of pilgrims for reflection on your prayer experience.
The Spiritual Exercises
The Ignatian Prayer Adventure provides an excellent introduction to the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola, the foundation of Ignatian Spirituality.
If you've been curious about the Spiritual Exercises, this is a wonderful way to get a flavour for them. You may decide you'd like to go on to make a full retreat with the Exercises (which usually involves a daily commitment to prayer for around 9 months in ordinary life, or on 30 days of silent retreat, under the guidance of a spiritual director.)
Perhaps you've made the Exercises in the past, and would like to revisit them for Lent this year.
Please note that the material we use in this Lent retreat, An Ignatian Prayer Adventure is freely published at IgnatianSpirituality.com, and you already have full access to it, whether or not you participate in this retreat.
Group Spiritual Direction
I am delighted to invite you to join me and a small group of others each week to pray through this material together.
The group will have no more than seven participants, creating space for open sharing and deep listening
The group will meet each week on Zoom
Group Spiritual Direction will deepen and enrich your experience of the retreat material and help you to remain accountable to your daily prayer
Group Spiritual Direction is a wonderful way to get a flavour for individual Spiritual Direction, if this is something you're curious about.
In addition to the main retreat material which you will access through Ignatianspirituality.com, participants will receive a weekly email from me with links to past Contemplative at Home meditations that match the suggested daily meditations, where applicable.
Past Participants have said:
